Stephen Orr Spurrier is an American football player and coach. Spurrier was a Heisman Trophy winning college football quarterback at the University of Florida and spent a decade playing professionally in the National Football League (NFL). He later served as the head coach of three college and two professional teams and has been nicknamed the "Head Ball Coach". Spurrier retired from college coaching in 2015 and now serves as an ambassador and consultant for the University of Florida's athletic department and is slated to coach the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football. He is one of four people who have been elected to the College Football Hall of Fame as a player and as a coach.
