Pete Agnew is the Scottish bassist and vocalist with the Scottish hard rock band Nazareth. Born in Dunfermline, Scotland, he is the last founding member still performing with the band, which released its first album Nazareth in 1971.

I started a band in 1961 that eventually became Nazareth later on along the way. I have always been in the band and it is a way of life. I have a great and exciting job.
The secret is not to think of the song as a cover. A great song is a great song and can be performed in a number of different ways. When we do someone else’s song, we probably loved the original but would never think of doing a version of that version. If you can’t change it enough to make it yours.
