Last year I mostly only pitched bullpens and batting practice. I went into the season without pitching in a big league game. But I was feeling great. So we're trying to keep the same routine here.
-
He always said nobody is promised tomorrow, and he lived life to the fullest. I do that. You can't take life for granted, and Puck never did. I'm real glad I was his teammate. He taught me everything I know about how to act, how to carry yourself, on and off the field.
-
Kevin said that in a way, he was glad. It would make it easier to focus on getting ready for the season in Seattle.
-
He did a hell of a job. That's what happens when you have heart and guts.
-
I didn't do my job. These types of games hurt.
-
I think we played good baseball. Especially coming in there and playing these guys as tough as we did in their atmosphere. I just didn't do my job today, but I think we're gonna be all right.
-
We've got to come out of the gates and show that we're for real. Everybody says it's not how you start, it's how you finish. Yeah, that's true. But you've still got to set a tone.
-
I could have been in one, but I threw nine innings the night before.
-
In thinking about it, I felt I'd be better off not going over and playing in the WBC. I've got a lot to deal with here.
-
He's got great personality. That's the first thing you notice about him. He's a great guy.
-
I wanted to represent my country. It's an honor.
-
You want to look for bright spots. If you're a fan who knows the game, I think you'd have to say we're better. I know I've had guys from other teams ask me, 'What's wrong over there? That's a good lineup. We haven't hit consistently. We haven't pitched consistently. And we haven't done both in the same games consistently.
-
You know what? That was the longest inning I've had in a long time. It seemed like 100 pitches. I'm glad it's early and got it out of the way. Don't want many of those, man.
-
I don't even know when the last time I walked four guys, period.
-
He comes in here early, he works out, he goes about his business the right way. He goes about his business the rookie way be quiet and don't talk unless you're talked to.
-
He's doing absolutely fantastic. He's so excited back there, and I love that.
-
Come on over here, bro, we'll take your yen.
-
That's what my job is. To help this team win and save some games. But when they come, they come in bunches. When they don't come, they don't come for a while. You sit back and wait. We'll see what happens. I'll be ready.
-
You pitch up there at this level, you're going to pay the price. It was my fault.
-
You can't ask for anything more. I got treated fair this year.
-
We needed this one; we all needed it. It was a good meeting. I like it, the timing of it. We need something to get us going.
-
We all have to contribute here if we're going to win this year.
-
He's one of those guys who comes around every 20 years.
-
One bad pitch, it's frustrating. But I felt great, like I did in Boston, and look what happened. I cost the team, I almost cost the game. But my teammates pulled it out, and you know what? I'm not worried. I'll be fine.
