Jordan Brian Henderson is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for, and captains Premier League club Liverpool. He also represents the England national team. Henderson began his career at Sunderland in 2008, with a loan spell at Coventry City in 2009, before moving to Liverpool in 2011 where he won the League Cup in his debut season. He became captain of Liverpool in 2015 following the departure of Steven Gerrard, captaining the club to victory in the 2019 UEFA Champions League Final, 2019 UEFA Super Cup and the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup.
