Alannah Myles is a Canadian Juno and Grammy award winning singer-songwriter who had the chart-topping hit "Black Velvet" in 1990. She is the daughter of Canadian broadcast pioneer William Douglas Byles . He was inducted into the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' Hall of Fame in 1997.
