Bloodshy & Avant are a Swedish songwriting and production duo consisting of Christian "Bloodshy" Karlsson and Pontus "Avant" Winnberg. They have worked with many pre-eminent artists, including Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Ms. Dynamite, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Kelis, Girls' Generation, Christina Milian, Sky Ferreira, Utada and BoA. In addition to their production work, Karlsson and Winnberg are also members of the synthpop group Miike Snow, alongside lead vocalist Andrew Wyatt.

We, as a band, are going to try to do a remix pack for some of our latest songs and do as much as we can. Every single that we release gets that. That's the thing that we enjoy. You meet a lot of talented producers and DJs, you revisit friends and ask them if they want to do a remix, that's one of the beauties in it right now: hearing different versions of our versions and just being able to put those out, as well.

We're all about exploring new sounds, so we don't have any limits whatsoever about how we go about finding them. We do tend to sample human vocals or sample sounds, which allows you to create your own sound. That's not our only way obviously, but that's a way you can use a sound no one's used before; it's not a sound in the synth. There's a lot of that going on in our songs in general.

It's always been important to us to be original, which sounds really easy when you say it. Everyone says it all the time, but it's actually not that easy to be original. It's also something scary because if you're doing stuff that doesn't sound like anything else, I think a lot of people get scared of that. A lot of people tend to follow instead, they wait for something else to do something new and then they follow that. We just don't like to do that.

There's that really scary moment when you premiere music that no one's heard. It's the best and the worst moment. You're so scared. If it goes down well, then it's the best ever, but before you do it you want to die.
