We're a blue-collar band. That's how we like to think of ourselves. We come from humble beginnings and still have this attitude of really loving to meet people, shake their hands, and talk with them.
-
We just try to write about things that are close to our hearts. We don't sit around trying to write another 'Free Bird' or 'Sweet Home Alabama.'
-
I think it's just that Skynyrd songs are timeless.
-
I gotta tell you, Rickey Medlocke lived in some of the most magical years in this world's history. I lived in the '60s. I lived in the '70s, right into the '80s, and man, it was bad to the bone.

Sometimes music isn't the way to talk politics, you know?
-
Everybody's got a right to their own opinion, you know?

I'm very proud to be from Jacksonville.
-
In Lynyrd Skynyrd, we always got our recognition.

Man, I love Limp Bizkit, Johnny Lange, many people.
-
I like George W. At a time when this country was hit hard, he stood up for America. He's been the leader of the free world during the hardest time America's ever had.
-
I was one of the original drummers. What everyone likes to do is think of Lynyrd Skynyrd as the band that picked up again in '73. But I was one of the original members, and I was a big part of that.
-
I've always heard that the reason you fall is to get back up and keep going. So when that happens, or life throws you bad breaks or curves or deals you the wrong hand, all I've ever known is to keep going.
-
Skynyrd's not just a band; I think it's a lifestyle. It's iconic.
-
I just love going out and playing my brother's songs.
-
I got nothing against Barack Obama; I just might not like some of his policies and the people he surrounds himself with.
-
The more wild experiences you have, the better songs you can write.
-
I didn't know if Skynyrd fans were going to throw rocks at me or eggs or what.
-
Look at Gretchen Wilson. If she came out in the '70s she'd be the queen of Southern rock.
-
Rich people know how to party, too.
-
Michael Jordan was like basketball Jesus.
-
We have a song called 'Skynyrd Nation.' It's just about what our fans are, what they do in getting ready for the show.
-
Buffalo Springfield had three guitar players, and we thought they were so cool. So we started doing the three-guitar thing, and people started calling us the 'guitar army' and all this stuff.
-
If people can't relate to something, there's no use of the song being there.
-
That's your end goal anyway, is to make the fans happy.
