For all of us, the collective bargaining agreement is a big deal. We've seen everything in this league - strikes, free agency and salary caps. For some teams in the league, it's going to be tougher. We'll be one of the teams that it will be tough on.

All of us that have teams want to pick the right people. I've thought a lot about that. In the NFL, we've got 13 scouts traveling the country. Patrick is going to see that he made some real good things. He hit some deep balls and made some key plays for us, and that's partly what I'm referring to. And then he turned the ball over. We can't do that and Patrick knows that.

I don't think it's as easy as people make it out to be. You also have to protect in there. You're looking through your legs and trying to get something back there 15 yards to a certain spot. Your head's down and there's someone coming who just gets a free whack at you. I don't think there's anything easy about that deal.

I'm just happy for him that he is playing well, ... A lot of times up here you go through tough things. At any one time in the NFL, you're going to have a number of players on a team who are going through tough situations. A lot of times the way they handle it is a measure of someone's character. I think that was Mark's situation last year and Patrick's situation now. The way you go through the tough times leads you to improvement and great performance in the future. It's a test of character when you go through that.

I think it's a confidence thing, hopefully, ... and I think the guys believe. They know what you're capable off. Certainly, I think our play has stepped up as we've kind of gone here. Hopefully, it carries over. Last year was so hard for us. We couldn't get a big play like we've had in these games. We just couldn't get a big one when we had to have it.
