Pafnuty Lvovich Chebyshev (16 May 1821 – 8 December 1894) was a Russian mathematician. His name can be alternatively transliterated as Chebychev, Chebysheff, Chebychov, Chebyshov; or Tchebychev, Tchebycheff (French transcriptions); or Tschebyschev, Tschebyschef, Tschebyscheff (German transcriptions).
