John Jay Chapman (March 2, 1862 – November 4, 1933) was an American author. Chapman was born in New York City on March 2, 1862. He was the son of Henry Grafton Chapman (1833–1883),a broker who became president of the New York Stock Exchange, and Eleanor Kingsland Jay (1839–1921).
