Dr. Alastair J. J. Wood serves as a Partner and Managing Director at Symphony Capital LLC. Dr. Wood joined Symphony Capital in September 2006, after completing more than 30 years at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Dr. Wood has worked with the firm since its inception as Chairman of Symphony’s Clinical Advisory Council. He serves as a Director at Symphony Evolution, Inc. and Symphony Neuro Development Company. He served as a Director of Oxigene Inc. from October 22, 2008 to July 16, 2013. Until 2006, Dr. Wood has been a Member of Chaired National Institutes of Health study sections and served on the Editorial Boards of four major journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine. Between 1992 and 2004, Dr. Wood was a Drug Therapy Editor of The New England Journal of Medicine. He serves as a Professor of Medicine and Professor of Pharmacology at Weill Cornell Medical School. Dr. Wood was at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, most recently as an Associate Dean of External Affairs. He was also an Attending Physician and Tenured Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology at Vanderbilt. During the past 30 years, he has written or co-authored more than 300 scientific papers and won numerous honors, including election to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Wood holds an M.D. from the University of St. Andrews.
