You've got to set a tone early. We didn't set that tone early last year and it lasted the whole year.
Eddie Guardado -
Look at him. He's no bigger than he's always been.

The last two years have been tough. We all share in that. We haven't done our job. But I look around the division now, and we match up pretty well. I think we can do some damage.
Eddie Guardado -
There are a lot of pitchers who need to throw 100 pitches. But that's not me. I just need to throw some fastballs, a couple of sliders, a couple of splitters and I'm ready to go.
Eddie Guardado -
I fell behind 2-0 and had to get a strike there. The ball was not where I wanted it, no doubt. I just blew it. I blew it. We played big today.
Eddie Guardado -
We have some unfinished business and I like to finish what I start. Obviously, the last two years weren't good.
Eddie Guardado -
Last year, I was so worried about my knee and my shoulder. I was kind of timid throwing the ball. This year, I just came in and the ball flew right out of my hand. I feel real good.
Eddie Guardado -
The ball was just lifted. He got it up, got underneath it and took it. The thing about falling behind on Loretta, you fall behind 2-0, with a guy on first, I've got to get at least a strike there. He went swinging and we paid for it.

Felix is one of those guys who comes along every 10 or 20 years. He's a tremendous talent -- for his age, unbelievable. And he's handled all this hype like a champ.
Eddie Guardado -
He helped pick out the stuff. He's been here less than a year, and that's not enough time. So he has to go through it again.
Eddie Guardado -
You can't think about the wall, but you always know it's there. You can't pitch differently because of it.
Eddie Guardado -
The thing that's really surprising everybody is his composure on the mound. The way he handles himself on the field, you wouldn't think he's 19 years old.
Eddie Guardado -
It feels fresh and it feels good. During spring training, you can see it a little fire, a little more chemistry here. That's what you need.
Eddie Guardado -
He's good. He gets these guys off their butts. That's what I like about him.
Eddie Guardado
-
I didn't bear down. It would have been nice to sweep those guys but it was a bad day. It's the first time this has happened in a while.
Eddie Guardado -
I know what is going on here. People want to stand up for their rights. If they're here illegally, most of them are doing it to make a better life for themselves and their families. I'd just like to see them do it the right way.
Eddie Guardado -
They've got a great team, I really like them. They're a young team, and they've done what the Twins did in that division a few years ago. This is what happens when you get a core group of guys and let them play with each other for three, four years. You get a special bunch. They're having fun you can see it.
Eddie Guardado -
It's a little payback. He was acting like he had 10 years in the league.
Eddie Guardado -
I feel all right physically, but I don't feel all right showing these results. I've always been pinpoint, and right now I'm not. I go through these little slumps. Hopefully, this one is coming early and we'll get it behind us. Basically, what really hurts is we're here to win and we can't win if I don't give us a chance.
Eddie Guardado -
I feel like I've just been hanging out.
Eddie Guardado
-
That's part of baseball. You're going to have those days. The name of the game is picking each other up.
Eddie Guardado -
After the other guys did the job in relief, I was supposed to nail down the shutout for Felix after a great start. You hate to lose that zero, but we did get the win, and that's what it's all about.
Eddie Guardado -
Last year I mostly only pitched bullpens and batting practice. I went into the season without pitching in a big league game. But I was feeling great. So we're trying to keep the same routine here.
Eddie Guardado -
I don't know what to tell you, man. That one pitch is costing me. ... It's hurting everybody here.
