Anthony Stephen "Tony" Fauci ( /ˈfaʊtʃi/) is an American immunologist who has made substantial contributions to HIV/AIDS research and other immunodeficiencies, both as a scientist and as the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
