I thought that our first New York Comic Con for 'Jessica Jones' was epic because we had a pretty major reaction from the crowd after showing our first episode!
-
When I go home to Pennsylvania, my cousins who live in small towns and are twenty-three with kids are like 'Krysten, when are you getting married?' 'When are you having a kid?' Honestly, those aren't the most important things to me right now.
-
I worked with my acting coach one-on-one for hours and hours, every single day for two months, before even setting foot on set or putting on Jessica Jones's clothes.
-
I was totally picked on, but look at me now! I was definitely picked on by boys and girls. I was really lanky and skinny and the boys would say, 'Turn sideways and stick out your tongue, you look like a zipper.'
-
'Sharp Objects' is honestly one of my most exciting reading experiences.
-
I'm having a great time. I get to travel and see the world. And yeah, I'll have a family, because I don't want to miss out on that amazing experience, but it's not defining who I am.
-
When I'm breaking in a character like Jessica Jones, I have this amazing opportunity to create her backstory. It's all of the work that happens before I'm ever on camera... Writing 'Bonfire' was like doing all of that fun stuff; it was like 300 pages of prep work.
-
I'm from a small town, a farm, a hundred acres.
-
I'm all about time management. I have gotten my makeup prep in the morning down to, like, four minutes. There's just not enough time in the day.
-
I've never been a fearful person. When I was growing up, I wanted to be an actress, a writer, and a musician and I never really processed that those are the three hardest jobs - I just never even processed it.
-
I read the entire 'Alias' series. I devoured them.
-
My favorite face wash is Aveeno Foaming Face Wash, and I get it at CVS or Rite Aid. It's the best. It gets off makeup, but it's not drying, and you feel clean.
-
If someone says, 'I love 'Jessica Jones!'' I just say, 'Thanks, I love you back!'
-
I believe in women having a voice, being empowered, speaking up, and having ideas.
-
I'm the only person in the entire world who has never see 'Dawson's Creek.'
-
I'm definitely scared by commitment.
-
It's exciting to originate Jessica Jones. There's obviously more freedom in that versus playing a well known character.
-
Yarn, patterns, and needle sizes have come such a long way since your grandmother's afghans. Creatively, there is just so much to get into, so much to play with. It's an amazing way to turn inward and get off your phone.
-
On the farm, I had chores. I had a calf. We had a herd of cattle in the pasture. We'd go and get me a calf at a cow auction with Amish people, which I would raise. I gave it a bottle every day, in this cute little coop, like a giant dog coop almost. I've always been a big animal person.
-
Besides boutiques, I love H&M. Affordable and adorable.
-
What I'm doing is making sure that I have a balance, and that allows me, I think, to be a better actor and to more easily and quickly access all of the emotions on the scale. I make sure that I read a book on the weekend or read something or do my knitting or do the things that I need to do for myself, like 'Game of Thrones.' Get that balance.
-
There are a lot of times when Jessica Jones is alone in her house, and there's no dialogue. She's rough around the edges, so getting to spend that time with her and see her be vulnerable and process the weight of her world is what makes the character so likable.
-
The most rewarding thing is having a job that you love. It's not a luxury that everyone in this world enjoys.
-
I didn't want to play the wife of some guy my dad's age.
