Douglas L. LaMalfa is an American politician. A Republican, he has been the U.S. Representative for California's 1st congressional district, located in Northern California, since 2013. LaMalfa previously served in the California State Assembly, representing the 2nd district, from 2002 to 2008, and he served in the California State Senate, representing the 4th district, from 2010 to 2012.

A lot of the people in Northern California and parts of Oregon have decided that we are not on the same page as San Francisco and Portland and Los Angeles. I don't know if six states is a solution because is Washington, D.C. and the rest of the country really going to give California 10 new senators?
