Gayle Tzemach Lemmon (born 1973) is a journalist, writer, and researcher. She is the author of two New York Times best sellers, The Dressmaker of Khair Khana, published in March 2011 by HarperCollins, and Ashley's War: The Untold Story of a Team of Women Soldiers on the Special Ops Battlefield, published in 2015 by HarperCollins. Lemmon has recently committed to write her next book for Penguin. The story is based in northern Syria and focuses on what ISIS is leaving in its wake: the most radical experiment in women’s rights in the world’s least likely place. Lemmon is also the author of Child Brides, Global Consequences: How to End Child Marriage, published in 2014 by the Council on Foreign Relations, where she is an adjunct senior fellow in the Women and Foreign Policy Program. In addition to her position at CFR, Lemmon is a CNN National Security Analyst. She recently signed on as the Chief Marketing Officer for the technology firm Shield AI, an artificial intelligence company focused on using networked robots to protect service members and civilians.
