This guy is your ace, you got a 5-0 lead with the eighth and ninth hitters coming up, you feel pretty good about that inning and all of a sudden it turns into a six-run inning.
Carlos Zambrano -
I made too many mistakes in the games - throwing, fielding, pitching. So far, this season has been weird to me. I can't worry about that. I have to worry about the future and cut some of my pitches per inning, and that's what we'll do. I have 30 more starts to go.

I don't think it's up to the manager. It's up to us to be there, to want to compete, to want to finish a game. You have to work hard for the season.
Carlos Zambrano -
We're talking to each other. All we want to do is win.
Carlos Zambrano -
I am one of the guys that thinks you never have to give up. When you have that 'X' that says you're eliminated, then you give up. Not anybody in the league, not Kansas City, not Pittsburgh, has that 'X' that says they are eliminated. We're still fighting for something. We still have a chance to do a lot of things. We're still fighting for something. We still have a chance to do a lot of things.
Carlos Zambrano -
I didn't try to hit him. I just tried to make my pitch and the ball went out of my hand.
Carlos Zambrano -
I don't think about that. I will think about that when I have the trophy in my hands. I just said that in spring training, and I'll just let it happen. You can see [Johan] Santana has like a four-something earned-run average. That's not Santana. At the end of the season, you'll see what Santana is capable of doing.
Carlos Zambrano -
As soon as I saw [Barrett], we both hugged and talked and forgave each other. I think we became truer friends, better than we were before the fight.

This kid is electric. He overpowered us today. There's no doubt about that. He had everything and threw everything where he wanted to throw it with velocity, with tilt, with sharpness.
Carlos Zambrano -
He will learn. He likes to learn. It's good. He likes to learn and he's hungry for this.
Carlos Zambrano -
I tried to throw a fastball inside, and the ball kind of slipped out of my hand where I didn't want to throw it. That was a big mistake. If I walk Chipper in that situation and get a groundball with the next hitter, then nothing happens and I should win the game 2-0.
Carlos Zambrano -
I was real, real sad about that play. Four more outs to throw a no-hitter ... I was really sad. I saw the play on the field and thought he was out. But he's human (umpire Bill Miller) and anybody can make a mistake.
Carlos Zambrano -
He's an emotional guy, but I don't believe what went on the field tonight outside of baseball deserves any words.
Carlos Zambrano -
It happens to me all the time. I have to drink more water. It has nothing to do with my elbow or shoulder.
Carlos Zambrano
-
I don't want to talk about my hitting. My job is to pitch a good ballgame every time out. The triple was a gift. I take pride in my hitting, but I'm not a hitter.
Carlos Zambrano -
I'm ready for everything and I'm excited for the season. I feel it's our time. We have speedy guys, we have power guys and we have pitching.
Carlos Zambrano -
That's amazing. That proves that Venezuela has a lot of players good enough to be in the Major Leagues. I'm very proud for my country, for all those people who are playing in the Major Leagues from Venezuela.
Carlos Zambrano -
I was concentrating all the time. I left some pitches in the middle and they hit it well. That happens when you make a mistake and don't locate your pitches.
Carlos Zambrano -
I don't say that the Milwaukee Brewers are nothing, but I think the offense of the Cincinnati Reds (is) better. There's no making mistakes when pitching against Cincinnati. When you make a mistake against them, you pay for it. When you make a mistake against Milwaukee, sometimes they miss it and that's good.
Carlos Zambrano -
There are a lot of guys who can be an ace here on this team.

I've been on the computer a lot. They say that's the cause of the soreness in my elbow. I'll be in control. I spent four hours. Now, I'll have to spend one hour and take it easy.
Carlos Zambrano -
I will pitch the same way I pitch for the Cubs with less intensity.
Carlos Zambrano -
It's not how you start, it's how you finish. We have to move on. I have 30 more starts. This doesn't bother me.
Carlos Zambrano -
I've been talking to a lot of hitters in this league, and they say it's hard to face me because I look scary out there.
