Paul John Tucker is a record producer and songwriter. He is best known as one half of the British duo, Lighthouse Family. He attended Newcastle University, but dropped out after the first year to concentrate on his music.

When I’m writing I get it up as quickly as possible. I get the bass down and a drum sound, I don’t want to get bogged down in EQ. As long as it’s working and you’ve created a convincing illusion and the mood is coming to life then I’m happy with. That’s the writing stage.
Once you get a little crack you’ve got your foothold. You understand the story and can morph the rest of it out of that.
A lot of the time you get to a point where you’re just doing your own head in.
