We didn't do enough offensively to get it done, and we don't usually say that.

When you get down like that, you use up so much energy to get back into the basketball game. Then you have to be perfect the rest of the way. And playing this game, there is no way you can be perfect, because this game is so hard.

She was laying on the floor and she'd be having her arm around me.

When you're not writing, you're not doing anything else either because everything you do goes into the writing.

I remember playing in a tournament when at home we didn't have light, because my mom spent her last money on my sneakers.

We moved the ball around today. Everybody did a great job playing off each other.

He's helped me do so much in my career, helped me be the player that I am. If there's no Larry Brown, then there's no MVP, Allen Iverson.

It's a big disappointment. They just jumped on us. Once we started to get into any type of groove offensively or defensively, it was too late.
Allen Iverson

To fight like we fought the majority of the game and then for that to happen to us with 4.9 seconds on the clock is just devastating.

If I start thinking about who's on the opposing team and I've got to play well against that team, then the next night when we play against guys without the big names, then you don't play so well. So you try and keep a consistent approach.

I had problems walking, so I knew I couldn't do any running. I couldn't do it. It's real swollen.

He took advantage of his opportunities. He just got himself involved. He played a great game.

We got to stop people. We go ahead and we score 100 points every night, but we give up more. Our whole thing was, we know we can score, and we have to start having some kind of fun on the defensive end. Everybody want to play offense. Not too many people want to play defense. Defense is ego, pride, and that's the way we've been coming out, just taking the challenge. Man-on-man first, and having each other's back when a guy gets beat.

I think I'm getting better as a basketball player.

I guess it's just having time to play with each other and learning each other, just finding out how he wants to play and vice versa. He told me coming into the season that he wasn't doing his job if I didn't average four or five more points than I had been, and he was right because I am. ... We work together. We find out what plays we want to run. When we call plays for him, he tells me things he can do to get me an easy basket. And when a play is called for me, I let him know, if they take certain things away from me, what I can get for him. So it's just having some chemistry, being together and having a coach that understands that both of us need the ball and understands how both of us want to play.

He gave me an excuse, and I didn't buy it.

I think the biggest part of this was the fact that we were coming into an arena where the guys were 0-7.

We got things done at the right time tonight. Every time we went down we kept our composure and got back into the game. We were able to get a lead and sustain it. We showed a lot of character being that those guys (Washington) already had their playoff shirts made up and wanted to wear them after the game. We didn't give them a chance to do that, now they have to do it somewhere else. We had an extra incentive to beat them and that gave us a great lift. We just did everything right tonight.
Allen Iverson

To me it's like starting all over, ... If you've watched any of the games I've played at the point guard position, it's honestly hard for other teams to stop it, because I'm putting pressure on guys. We don't always have to come down and rely on getting points off a set offense. We get a chance to run up and down the court and get a lot of easy baskets.
Allen Iverson

It's a big win for us...just because we've been struggling to win a game after a game. You feel good about not giving up one after we win one.
Allen Iverson
-
You play 82 games, and it's unheard of that you win every game, but this is one we should have had.
Allen Iverson

They knock Shaq about his free throws. I'm the one that needs to be getting knocked.
Allen Iverson

If we don't have Willie it's going to hurt us. But we have so many guys ready to step up.
Allen Iverson

You can't just put it on one thing. We have been doing a lot of things well. We are playing well together, we are defending, we are doing a lot of positive things out there.
