Sometimes it's not catastrophic. Sometimes you only come to the bottom of your coffee cup. Sometimes you have a good day. No one wants to know. No one wants to tell you about theirs either. You might somehow take it. Turn it against them. See the flaw. You always tell them the whole thing sucks. It keeps you alive. They figure if you're out there having a rotten time, everything's fine and you're doing your part. No one will ever try to take your bad times away from you but they'll come swarming for your happiness.

I think there will always be great new music and bands. As long as there's people around, there's going to be great music. I think there's bands like Wolf Eyes, Q & Not U, the Evens and many others that are doing great stuff. The music that doesn't please you, you just don't listen. No one makes me listen to Nickelback, so long may they wave.

I will never say the things that I want to say to you. I know the damage it would do. I love you more than I hate my loneliness and pain.

When you have to work with and exist amongst cynical, burned-out personnel on a set, it doesn't matter what you're shooting or how much you're being paid - it's not worth it.
-
Cynicism is only intellectual sloth.

To see change in your own area code is very powerful. There's a little orphanage down the street from my company, and we donate $1 from the sale of each CD we sell to the orphanage.

I feel like the best thing, as far as what I do with kids, is I treat them like human beings.
-
A text conversation is a short exchange of often grossly truncated language that corresponds to a thought made all the more shallow by the process.
-
Weakness is what brings ignorance, cheapness, racism, homophobia, desperation, cruelty, brutality, all these things that will keep a society chained to the ground, one foot nailed to the floor.

When I see a train, I want to take it in my arms.

When life hands you a lemon, say 'Oh yeah, I like lemons. What else you got?
-
After I left D.C. to join Black Flag, I felt I was in a band.
-
As a label, you have to treat every group and every record as a unique entity. I think that that has been our success, rather than relying upon a fan base.
-
Art comes after the fact, as a witness to certain things that have happened.

The Wacken festival started more than 20 years ago with just a few hundred people in attendance. Tickets now sell out before the lineup is announced.
-
I'd like to talk to Arnold Schwarzenegger, 'cause I live in California and I just want to see that canned, chemical filled body in my office.
-
You can find me in the frozen mood section.

I don't drive often, because the parking makes it too much of a nuisance. And I could never go back to commuting or anything. I'd just get fed up with it.

There's always a latent or inferred image in my writing. And I can almost always assume if I do a drawing that it will eventually have text.
