We had our opportunities, we just didn't convert.

I didn't anticipate all that's happened and who we've missed.

I still think we haven't put it all together, and maybe that's good that we're still good enough to win. I told the guys, our 2000 national title team -- we won 12-7 here, and we went on to win out and play in the Orange Bowl. So a lot of things are setting up similarly.

We had no intention of bringing Dusty back when he was let go a year ago. I figured he'd enter the NFL draft, and that would be it.
Bob Stoops
-
It kind of just typifies our whole year. We've been fighting all year. I'm proud of our guys for competing the way they did.
Bob Stoops
-
You guys probably forgot how he played those first 12 games.
Bob Stoops
-
We need to make something of this week.
Bob Stoops
-
This shows the youth that we have and the way that we have grown throughout the year. We have a number of young guys who are capable of being really good, and I think they'll get better and better.
Bob Stoops
-
What we were doing at the end of the game, we've never done before. The other side of it is, if we don't do it, for instance when we did take a knee against Texas Tech, does that then come back and haunt you? Is that the reason that maybe kept you out of something, and how do you live with that as well? Its really a rotten position to play in.
Bob Stoops
-
This just kind of typifies our whole year. We have a great group of young guys that are capable of becoming very good. This team just continued to fight and make plays as it gained confidence down the stretch.
Bob Stoops
-
We're going right now with Rhett, but we've still always got Paul ready to go.
Bob Stoops
-
We're one of those teams that gets criticized even when we win. In the end, though, I'm smart enough to recognize all that we overcame down here in this atmosphere and still came away with a victory.
Bob Stoops
-
They're a very solid team in everything they do. Watching them against Minnesota, there were a good number of plays and series where they were really playing well and executing on both sides of the ball.
Bob Stoops
-
He wasn't making the cuts he was used to making. We knew there was a chance he may not play.
Bob Stoops
-
They're still learning and improving as they go, but they played with some attitude and toughness that we needed, ... I believe we'll build off of that.
Bob Stoops
-
I felt the law of averages would eventually swing back your way. We were due for something good to happen, and sure enough, it happened.
Bob Stoops
-
It's not the ideal situation, I understand that, ... But I think people respect Paul and how hard he's worked, and this gives him an opportunity to do something that excites him.
Bob Stoops
-
Adrian needs work. He can polish a lot of things up to become a better and better player, and he's aware of that. I think this can really help him. When you think of the time he has lost - spring last year, two-a-days the year before - he's playing on a lot of raw ability and I think some of this practice time can really benefit him.
Bob Stoops
-
We have not been good. The players haven't been good. You can say whatever you want. I have done a lousy job.
Bob Stoops
-
I keep reading about all the guys they have coming back, ... We have 10 starters coming back on offense, eight on defense.
Bob Stoops
-
By no means am I sitting here saying that Paul Thompson is responsible for the way we played Saturday. That's not the case. We had a lot of guys, mostly older guys, play as poorly as I have seen them play. We feel Rhett deserves the same opportunity that Paul had.
Bob Stoops
-
You're not going to win when you turn the ball over and put the ball on the ground like we did.
Bob Stoops
-
I think we're still better than the way we played.
Bob Stoops
-
They have always really committed to the run game and stopping the run. They do a good job of it.
