I am not born to just become an actor.

I don't go out anywhere. I don't go to nightclubs, so meeting somebody in the nightclub is out of question.

The day the producers aren't minting money, or the fans are done with me and, most of all, I as a person get bored of acting, I will stop and pursue my other interests. There is a lot to do: painting, writing, direction.

...I have this scar on my hand (points to shoulder). I see a lot of these guys who come with scars on their hands. It’s ridiculous. With me it was an accident. These kids do it on purpose. You can’t prove by doing such things that you are the biggest fan there is. I am myself thinking about getting a plastic surgery done to remove this. I also get a lot of people writing to me with their blood. I have stopped replying to those mails altogether.

Everybody puts their best foot forward usually. Plus, everyone has their set of negative qualities. It’s best to focus on the positives. It’s not like I have to marry the person. I have many negative qualities too. So if you like a few good qualities about someone, stick to those. Let the negatives be.

Any film is about heroism: the triumph of good over evil. If you look back at my films, you will see that as a recurring theme.

The best time to release a film is on a festive date like Divali or Eid, or at a time when there are no big films three to four weeks before or after.

I'm not possessive, I'm caring... Once you realize a person doesn't want that much care, you automatically back off.

I no longer do a film for the wrong reasons. I have to be convinced ethically and morally. Both the director and I have to be on the same page. There are just five songs in most films these days, and they have to be amazing. There has to be a twist in the screenplay. The editing has to be crisp. Your hard work should show, but effortlessly.

All fashion brands are about looking good. Being Human is also about doing good. And you can do good by the simple act of slipping into a t-shirt or a pair of jeans.

People are patronizing the theatres with renewed enthusiasm - there is an entire picnic-like attitude when families go out to see movies, which is a very good sign. They want to see larger-than-life characters on the big screen and not just watch movies on television or on DVDs.
Salman Khan -
There are actors who can pull of a writer's lines; I am not competent enough to do that.
Salman Khan -
Cinema should always be in touch with the soil of the country. My films celebrate the heartland of India.

I guess I don't take my stardom too seriously. I think I am one of the guys.

The older you get, the better you have to look, the higher you have to kick, the harder you have to work.

Now at 47, 48 I am expected to do ten times better work that I did when I was 24.

It feels nice to be loved, but let me tell you there are 10 times more better looking, stylish and talented guys than me. So there's no solid reason for me to be proud! I don't think I have done anything extraordinary to change people's lives.

I decided to praise my son not when he succeeded at things he was already good at, but when he persevered with things that he found difficult. I stressed to him that by struggling, your brain grows. Between the deep body of research on the field of learning mindsets and this personal experience with my son, I am more convinced than ever that mindsets toward learning could matter more than anything else we teach.

For me, acting comes straight from the heart. In that sense I don't act at all. I think that to feel the character's pain I have to be myself. Somewhere audiences see that.
