-
You are redeemed and you are also victorious, over your sins in Jesus.
Corrie Ten Boom
-
There's a belief that you're supposed to be poor, and suffering, and show your humility. I just don't see the Bible that way. I see that God came and Jesus died so that we might live an abundant life and be a blessing to others.
Joel Osteen
-
To identify with the death of Jesus Christ means that we must die to everything that was never a part of Him.
Oswald Chambers
-
It is one thing to say Jesus is all you want; until He is all you have and you discover He is all you ever needed.
Vance Havner

Actually, a myth is a story that is not just not true, but it's a story that is especially true. And I think the myth of Jesus is especially true.
Jay Parini
-
We must carry Jesus in our hearts to wherever He wants to go, and there are many places to which He may never go unless we take Him to them. None of us knows when the loveliest hour of our life is striking. It may be when we take Christ for the first time to that grey office in the city where we work, to the wretched lodging of that poor man who is an outcast, to the nursery of that pampered child, to that battleship, airfield, or camp.
Caryll Houselander
-
I believe that Jesus was, you know, the Son of God. And I understand that... we need to be really, really respectful to people who find that ridiculous and... preposterous.

I read about the Trinity. I found something - Jesus was Jewish, he was a rabbi! - and I read a lot of stories about Jesus in Israel. And it's interesting that they picked me for this part in The Snack, and I'm Jewish, I'm kind of religious Jewish from Israel, and I don't look like the traditional Jesus with the long blonde hair and blue eyes.

-
Look upward, Feeble Ones! look up, and trustThat He, who lays this mortal frame in dust,Still hath the immortal Spirit in His keepingIn Jesus' sight they are not dead, but sleeping

So in the end, was it worth it? Jesus Christ. How irreparably changed my life has become. It's always the last day of summer and I've been left out in the cold with no door to get back in. I'll grant you I've had more than my share of poignant moments. Life passes most people by while they're making grand plans for it. Throughout my lifetime, I've left pieces of my heart here and there. And now, there's almost not enough to stay alive. But I force a smile, knowing that my ambition far exceeded my talent. There are no more white horses or pretty ladies at my door.

The undiluted Jesus is someone who invites us to actually follow him—to do the things that he did—and to be willing to set aside anything in our lives that gets in the way of that central calling. It’s a calling for us to simply look like Jesus. To let the dead bury the dead. To embrace an uncertain future. To pick up a cross. If we want to rediscover the radical message of Jesus, we must stop diluting it by focusing on power, peace of mind, and prosperity. Instead, we must embrace the truly radical message that invites us to find life through laying it down. Ironically—if we do this—we’ll actually find the life we’re looking for, unfamiliar as it may be.
Benjamin L. Corey
