Rhett Bomar made a lot of plays, which will continue to give him confidence. He was much better in executing our passing game.

I just felt overall that there was a little more, maybe, consistency there to some degree, ... but it's still very close when you look at them overall.

It kind of just typifies our whole year, having to scratch and claw through it all. It's not always easy. We were playing the number five or six team in the country and we knew it was going to be tough, so I'm proud of the way our guys did compete.

There's a very fine margin in winning and losing, ... The way we've played in so many games, the point production, the great defense -- there's a lot more to deal with that's positive than negative.

We are all happy for Darrell and his family. He feels the NFL is the direction he wants to go and we are supportive of him reaching his goals. We are all appreciative of the work he did here in coaching our receivers. He developed a great number of excellent players, and as also a strong recruiter.
Bob Stoops -
But I feel overall that coming into the year that we would have been stronger and better than we have been. You can name a bunch of reasons why we haven't been. Blame it on me. That's fine.
Bob Stoops -
He has been in the way we work. I'm going to tell you there is not a guy who goes at it harder in the weight room in the summer and on the field. You watch him, the way he plays determined.
Bob Stoops -
We coaches believe that Rhett has played well enough and is close enough that we do intend to get him snaps early in games as well as late in games.

Together, both quarterbacks are throwing for about 250 yards per game and completing about 70 percent of their passes. That's pretty strong for a couple of guys who don't have a lot of experience.
Bob Stoops -
It's better than it was Sunday. It's improved. They're probably going to take that boot off Tuesday. He'll probably be ready to go, hopefully by Wednesday.
Bob Stoops -
On both sides of the ball I see strong discipline, very good schemes, and players that play in a physical way. They play hard. That's why they win so often.
Bob Stoops -
Nobody promises you anything. We've had a lot to deal with when you look at the entire season and all that's happened in a short amount of time. You do the best you can to fight through it and you keep working.
Bob Stoops -
I'm not going to sit here and critique our quarterbacks in front of everybody. We weren't very productive, we need to do a better job and that's what were going to try to do.
Bob Stoops -
They all have skill ability. They are all guys who work hard and they have the respect of their teammates. They are all bright guys, and you put that all together and you have a group of great quarterbacks.

It's just unfortunate. People didn't know it, but he had that stress fracture for about six weeks. We were taping it, limiting practices here and there trying to get him through it, and then it just blew up on him.
Bob Stoops -
I like the fact that the players feel it and have some life in them.
Bob Stoops -
Congratulations to Texas, they played an excellent football game. The team, coaches and players really executed well and made big plays. Our compliments go out to them. They are an excellent football team, which we knew coming in, and they showed it again today.
Bob Stoops -
I feel like we're making good improvement up there. The good thing is that those guys are out there everyday. They're getting a ton of snaps and that will make them better.
Bob Stoops -
This is great, and as much as anything, it'll change the perception of our program. What you write about it may be a little bit different. Other than that, what we do in our program is going to matter more than anything.
Bob Stoops -
In the end, they're here to go to school, and it should be our job as administrators or as coaches that if they're not, we can't put you on the field.
Bob Stoops

Defensively, it was kind of frustrating. I have to compliment their quarterback. He did such a good job. What an excellent competitor.
Bob Stoops -
We need to do our best to be as sharp as we can. I think that's the frustrating part for us.
Bob Stoops -
It's not one of those injuries that heals even in four or five weeks. It's one of those that takes a significant amount of time. It's just unfortunate. It was kind of a funny fluke injury where he just got tangled up with Travis Wilson, I think. And it was a pass skeleton, where it wasn't even much of a contact drill. He just got kind of tangled up with him. It doesn't take much sometimes.
Bob Stoops -
The team thing would be to keep him at quarterback, ... But the guy's a junior and he's worked too hard here to do that. I believe he deserves an opportunity to be on the field.
