I feel like I would need to investigate and get some local tips. I think if I've learned anything from being on tour, it's that sometimes things you see in the guidebooks are stereotypically the best things to do, but there's no substitute for local knowledge on that stuff.

Talk to Arto Lindsay and I'm sure he's tired of people asking him about DNA; he's probably really into what he's doing now, which is good stuff. I guess I probably feel like that. But I'm obviously not comparing myself to someone as iconic as that.

My pictures had and have secret lives, and so there were things I did not tell, a lot of stuff I did not say back then which I'm saying now... I intend to continue allowing forms of secret life to paintings I'm working on right now because it excites me to do that.

To tell you the truth, I've never been really good at learning other people's stuff. I've been playing since I was 11, and I never took lessons. I kind of learned through hit and miss. I had the patience just because I loved guitar so much.

Nothing like tailgating on the Bayou. LSU is my personal favorite. Maybe it's my penchant for the spicy stuff. But there's nothing like sampling a little gumbo, a little jambalaya and then diving face-first in to a shrimp boil. The aroma just walking through the parking lot of Tiger Stadium stays with you the whole day, and the LSU fans get there early and stay late.
