Some of my favourites... there's the classics like Blur and Oasis and Pulp, Suede and The Charlatans, The La's, The Smiths, The Cure, stuff like that. That was a huge part of my teen-years and bands I still listen to right through to this day, but it had a huge bearing on me as a teen and it was some of my favourite music, and is still to this day some of my favourite music.

The bands we admired we're groups that made great album after great album. That's what groups like Led Zeppelin did. I'm certainly not comparing us to them in any way -- but they were an influence. You have to learn from your influences, and I think we have. We want to be doing this ten years from now -- maybe even 20 years from now. We know how important every album is. It's funny: here I am, a guy who plays in one of the world's biggest classic-rock bands, and to tell you the truth, I listen to classic rock the least.

We were noticed not because we dressed and acted so strangely, but because we didn't. All the other bands at that time were concerned with dressing as outrageously as possible and dying their hair ridiculous colors. We tended to look and act rather conservatively. People remember us, as well as our music.
